Frequently asked questions
Most trail cameras can email their photos over the mobile network. Send them to the address OtsoVision gives each camera and photos arrive automatically, there's nothing to install.
Most trail cameras that can send photos by email work with OtsoVision. The ones we have verified in production are Reolink; Burrel; and cheap mobile-network cameras that send to their own private address instead of logging in. A camera that is not on that list is very likely fine too. If it signs in with a password it must use SSL/TLS; a camera that mails to its own address needs only that address.
No, one account covers all your cameras. You pay per active camera and can add or remove cameras anytime; billing adjusts automatically.
Common wildlife, people and vehicles, named as each photo arrives so you can filter by species right away. You can also narrow the species list for a single camera.
On servers in the EU (Finland). Your images are private to you and the people you explicitly share with. Separately, images in which our AI identified a game species may be included, stripped of all metadata, identity and exact location, in an anonymised wildlife dataset, which we license to research organisations and use ourselves to test and improve the species recognition; see the privacy notice, section 4a.
